Well, we’ve come to the end of the road. I regret to announce that this will be the last ever issue of Advanced Carp Fishing. It’s been an absolute privilege to be editor on one of the top carp angling publications, even if it was for a short time. I hope that you’ve all enjoyed the last few issues as much as I enjoyed putting them together.
If you’ve not had a flick through our sister magazine Total Carp, I’d highly recommend giving it a go. The Total Carp team is fantastic and the magazine has come on in leaps and bounds since Dan Murrell has taken over the reigns. No doubt some of your favourite content from ACF will be making its way across to Total Carp too. Pick up a copy and I’m sure you will be pleasantly surprised.
It’s a real shame that ACF is coming to an end, but as the saying goes, every cloud has a silver lining. It’s now spring, without doubt one of my favourite times of year to be out on the bank and I’m about to have a lot of fishing time ahead of me – see you out there!
Here’s what you’ll find in the May 2017 issue…
The latest news and competitions from the social media side of carp fishing.
48 Hours On The Clock
With 48 hours and two lakes, can Dave Magalhaes catch a whacker live for the cameras?
“Over the few days leading up to our allotted 48-hour time slot, Dave and I had been catching over our various option for lakes to target.”
Inside The Mind
Keep up to date with Jim Shelley’s carp fishing and learn from one of the best in the business
“This winter has been a lot like the autumn, fishing really slowly and patchily. Even places like Waveney Valley Lakes, wich normally throw up loads of fish, haven’t been fishing.”
WIN – Chub Cyfish One-Man Bivvies
Two lucky readers have the chance to win Chub Cyfish One-Man Bivvies worth £659.98 in total!
“The Cyfish is a large and sturdy pram-hood-style bivvy, providing protection for year-round use. An interesting spaced front rib design provides significantly more internal space.”
We test six brollies to find out how well they perform
“As we move into spring, more and more people will be ditching their winter bivvies for a brolly.”
Taking Down Tyson
“After a long winter away from the bank I was raring to get going on my syndicate lake. The previous year I’d had a rally good time and caught some very nice fish.”
