Max says: Having used the same sleeping bag for three years I was keen to make a change!
We recently received the Atexx sleeping bag in for review and a quick phone call to Andy at Aqua confirmed that I could give it a test over the winter.
So the weather hasn’t been as cold as many previous winters, but so far I am not let down one bit. Firstly, the Aquatexx material found on the Aqua bivvies is used as the outer material, making it super-waterproof and ideal if you are fishing in wet conditions. One smooth pull of the crash zips and you are into the main bag.
Made with a super-soft fleece lining and Hollofil fibres, the Atexx certainly traps a lot of air, keeping you warm at all times of the year. I certainly haven’t been caught out in it. It fits my medium-sized bedchair perfectly and although it keeps you warm it isn’t too bulky, enabling you to keep your sleeping bag on your bedchair during transit, which is ideal if you don’t want to have to wrestle it into a bag every time you need to get on the move.
A particularly nice touch is the zip in the hood that allows you to stuff your clothes into an additional compartment to create a makeshift pillow and provide storage for your unneeded clothing.
I have done a number of nights in the Atexx in all manner of weather conditions and I am yet to be cold. It’s absolutely ideal for my fishing and I can’t rate it highly enough.
