Loads of top new tackle from popular brand.

Reports from the Wychwood Trade Show suggest that this years products are set to prove a big hit among anglers. Max Hendry, of Angling News Week’s sister title, Total Carp said “We particularly liked new two-man HD Basecamp bivvy. It is spacious enough for two large bedchairs with room to spare; perfect for fishing abroad with the missus or longer sessions in the UK. As you can see from the picture it simply dwarfs, my colleague Pete McKenna. The Basecamp is really built to last, so much so that Wychwood offers a huge five-year guarantee on all of its shelters. It’s well worth a look if you are after a new bivvy this winter.

There was also attractive luggage on display. The Solace foldall particularly impressed. Fitted with a foldout, adjustable bivvy table, it doubles as the perfect tackle station as well as a spacious carryall. The table can also be completely removed to create room for another pocket. Another great feature is the bankstick-retention system, which allows you to put your rod rests in the top of the foldall for easy access and protection.

The extendable landing-net handle is also sure to be a hit, featuring a twist-lock system, it can extend from five foot all the way to nine feet five inches. The landing net is super-strong but remains lightweight. The added length is perfect for the angler who likes to fish with zig rigs because it will make netting fish a doddle.

Wychwood also exhibited its range of bite alarms. The new Solace alarms are packed full of technology and are excellent value for money. You get a choice of six LEDs and a full range of sensitivity, volume and tone settings. Each alarm comes with a protective case and a two-year warranty. There is also a nationwide deal that when you buy three alarms you get the Solace receiver free.

The new products will be released in late November, just in time for Christmas, so they are well worth a look.”
