“A comfortable, small and light bedchair – ideal.”
Karl says: I’ve been testing the Stealth X-Lite for a few months and, being the lightest bedchair on the market, it suits me perfectly.
I do my best to travel as light as possible and with a small hatchback car it pays for my gear to be small to transport it.
I’ve previously owned and used the old JRC Stealth X-Lite when it was adorned with Terry Hearn’s name, and despite switching to a larger bedchair a few years ago, I ended up back on the trusty X-Lite for its smaller size and comfort.
After 10 years’ service from the old one, the comfort of the new version was instantly noticeable.
Despite being a small bedchair, measuring just 195 by 70 centimetres, it gives me a sound night’s sleep on the bank.
It weighs just 6.7kg, has three legs all fitted with oversized mudfeet and the hand wheels are great for squeezing my sleeping bag inside and locking it tight.
There are countless ‘compact’ shelters available now, so having a smaller bedchair will afford you more room inside these types of bivvies and I would certainly recommend it if you are after a small bedchair because it ticks all the boxes.
