The lakes, although busy are continuing to fish well, with both bottom baits and zig rigs fished up in the water accounting for fish and during the last week there have been at least another two forties recorded along with plenty of thirties.

We’re getting closer and closer to our annual Open Day which this year is being held on Brasenose-Two on Saturday, May 10th. This free-to-enter event will have plenty of the industry’s big names in attendance along with tombola and raffle prizes on offer in aid of the MNDA. There is plenty of parking close by and food and drink will be available on the day, so why not pop along?

Luke Nelson, who was down on a tutorial with Chris Lowe, landed a new 33lb 12oz PB mirror along with 17 other fish. Angie Lawley had a hectic recent trip to Oxlease when she landed 40 fish using Avid Zig-lites on various depth zig-rigs. Her catch included mirrors of 30lb and 31lb. Fishing with Angie was Chris Lowe, who landed seven fish to 27lb 08oz using Sonubaits Code-Red boilies over a heavily baited area.

Manor has been a bit slower but there have been a number of fish out recently including a couple of nice mid-twenties to Jamie Peace.

Jason Mcdowall landed a very impressive 35lb 04oz mirror followed by the awesome “Small Plated” weighing 40lb 14oz. Craig Burton had a very successful session landing 21 fish using a variety of baits fished over a heavily baited area. Included in his catch were nine twenties up to 29lb 04oz. Sparsholt student, Jonathan Clifford landed a number of fish including a 27lb mirror. He also landed four cats, one double, two forties and one fifty and all that after landing the lake’s Big Common at over 40lb the week before. Darren Taylor had three fish to just over 26lb whilst fishing from Kempy’s Point. And Warwick angler, Mat Smith had a 21lb 07oz mirror using CC Moore live system boilies. I’ve also just heard that the “Big Plated” has been out at over 45lb, more details if and when I receive them!

On Brasenose-One, David McCormick had five fish up to 32lb 14oz using 18mm cell boilies rolled by Stafford Carp Baits. And Darren Smith had a 30.08 mirror during a recent session. Whilst on Brasenose-Two, Robin Stanton had 10 fish during a recent tutorial with James Anderson. James used Tails-Up boilies and particles to land fish to just over 20lb. And Germain Morris had a 17lb mirror and 18lb ghostie.
