We’re getting closer and closer to our annual Open Day which, this year, is being held on Brasenose-Two on Saturday, May 10th.

This free-to-enter event will have plenty of the industry’s big names in attendance along with tombola and raffle prizes on offer in aid of the MNDA. There is plenty of parking close by and food and drinks will be available on the day, so why not pop along for the day?

Over the last week most of the lakes have fished very well with arguably St. John’s fishing the best with plenty of fish being caught including the “Box Common” at just over 40lb. Russell Webb from Bicester enjoyed some of the good sport when he landed a stunning 32lb 07oz common using Blakes Bait new Krillnilla 18mm boilies. Ian and Lynn Oldham continued their good run of form with Ian landing a 34.02 mirror and Lynn setting a new PB with a 31.08 mirror. Artur Smyk from Staines set a new PB when he landed a 25lb 08oz common using yellow pop-ups. Nigel Allison from Cambridge had a 26lb mirror using the new Hybrid boilies from Mainline. And Lee Cooper showed his old mate, Ian Russell how it’s done when he landed fish weighing 18lb, 24lb, 31lb 10oz and a new PB at 31lb 11oz. All his fish fell to the new Sonubaits Code-Red boilies.

Hardwick/Smiths has continued its good form with Andy Horne from Wimbledon landing four fish during a 48-hour session; this included a 20.04 leather, 28.04 mirror and commons weighing 19.08 and 23.09. And Steven Potts landed 20 fish using spod mix and boilies. His catch included a cracking 27lb 14oz common.

Chris Burton from Bromsgrove had five fish during a 48-hour session. His catch included a 19.06 common along with mirrors weighing 26.14, 19.08, 18.06 and 35.08. Pete Wilson from Richworth landed mirrors of 20.12 and 21.08 along with a very nice 26lb 04oz common, all Pete’s fish fell to Richworth S-core boilies, groundbait and pellets. And Chris Berry had a 29lb 12oz mirror using a milky toffee pop-up fished over a bed of hemp and corn.

On Yeoman’s Lake, local angler, Tony Jones from Didcot landed an impressive 30lb 12oz mirror. On Unity Lake Dave Catchpole had four upper doubles to 19lb 14oz along with mirrors weighing 23.12, 24.04, 26.02 and 34.02. And also on Unity was Neil Whipp who landed a new PB 34lb 06oz mirror.
