Over £9,000 of gear taken from Peterborough store.

Famous Peterborough tackle shop, Shelton’s suffered a break in during the early hours of Saturday morning. The shop’s general manager, Richard Hearth, estimated that more than £9,000 worth of bait boats, alarms and receivers were taken.

Richard explained: “It is thought that the thieves struck at around 0.50am on Saturday morning. The front of the shop is armed with toughened safety glass, and the thieves smashed this in, which instantly awoke our neighbours, who rang the police. It is estimated that the thieves were inside the shop no more than three minutes, but in that time they managed to get hold of two bait boats, several Nash Siren alarms and receivers, and a fair few Delkim alarms and receivers.

The police were on the scene with dogs within seven minutes, but the thieves had already made good their escape. We reckon they made off with well over £9,000 worth of goods.”

Richard is urging anybody with any relevant information to get in touch on 01733 565287.
