Team Sonik / Ace took first place in the big four carp and biggest common in the carp-buffalo challenge at Lake Fork Texas in the USA last weekend.

The lake is world renowned for some of the largest big-mouth bass in the world. It is now home to some monster small-mouth buffalo carp and carp. The lake is 27,000 acres in size and is full of trees and snags.

The weather conditions for the tournament started off cold and sunny but by the end of the tournament the temperatures had dropped from the low 20s to  minus 4 in 12 hours. The fishing was hard going with most of the teams blanking but Team Sonik/Ace kept the bait going in every two hours with the Spomb, and the fish in the end started coming.

They took three commons at 33.05lb, 32.01lb, and 17.04lb to take first place and a cheque for $4,000. They also took first place for the biggest common carp of the tournament, and a cheque for $1,500. Placed 3rd for big one carp and big one buffalo with a cheque for $1,000. A great time was had by all.

The team would like to thank all of their sponsors, Sonik, Ace, Dynamite, and Spomb and would also like to say a big thanks to Jason Bernhardt at Wild Carp Company for putting on a great tournament.

They will definitely be back next year…
