Get Down To The Glasgow Angling Centre Weekend!

Glasgow Angling Centre’s famous open weekend is to take place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and the organiser promises it to be bigger, better and with more to see than ever before. The company’s last Open Weekend, in September 2012, was the biggest and best attended ever, securing a place in the calendar as the biggest free angling event in the UK.

Three-Day Event!

The event will be taking place at the company’s massive 30,000sq ft megastore ,which is throwing open its doors for anglers from all over the world to check out the latest fishing gear, pick up some great bargains and rub shoulders with the top names in the angling business. GAC has long been one of the country’s top sea fishing tackle retailers and this event will host a great line up of brands from the shore and boat angling scene, like Daiwa, Lynx, Abu, Penn, Shimano, Cox & Rawle and Okuma, and top anglers like Mike Thrussel, Stevie Souter and Anthony Glascoe will be on hand to give advice and share tips on sea angling’s latest trends, including a Tronix workshop on Light Rock Fishing, the latest trend in sea fishing.

Free Customer Reward Cards!

Glasgow Angling Centre will also be giving away its very popular Customer Reward Card, saving you the usual £5 subscription fee and introducing you to the extra benefits that membership brings. Sign up for your card at the Open Weekend and start collecting points right away – it takes less than a minute! For more details visit the GAC website.

Lots To See!

Angling charity ‘Get Hooked on Fishing’ will be running free coarse fishing taster sessions on the nearby canal basin for kids. John Edwards from Fish Recreations will be displaying his amazing fish replicas and offering free quotations on turning your best catch into a work of art! The RNLI will be doing free lifejacket safety checks, and

Clyde Outboard Services will be displaying boats, engines and of course taking bookings for servicing at great rates. And the girls from Ladies Fishing will be in store promoting angling for the fairer sex. You can easily spend a whole day here, with easy parking and onsite refreshments to keep you going!

Europe’s Biggest Selection!
There are more than 1,500 rods from right across the angling spectrum, all set up and on display, and you are most welcome to get them off the racks and try them out in our 30m casting pool or the neighbouring canal basin. The same goes for reels, line and accessories. It is often said that Glasgow Angling Centre has the single largest retail range of tackle and clothing in Europe; with a massive collection of equipment, including the very latest in accessories and clothing and much more.

Even if you are more of an armchair angler, you can also pick up the latest books, DVDs and catalogues, which all give great insight into what’s happening in angling today.

Predator fishing in the UK has seen a huge increase in popularity in recent years especially within the lure fishing scene.
