Carp to 38lb on offer at Hasting’s holiday park!

Shoals of new guests arrived at a top Hastings holiday park today – though they have gone straight into hiding, and hope to enjoy a free stay for the rest of the year without getting caught.

The risk, however, is very real – for the newcomers to Coghurst Hall Holiday Park are a 500lb consignment of frisky fish which have now been released into the park’s historic carp lake!

The mainly mirror and ghost carp will be joining many more mature specimens in the beautiful four-acre lake, including a substantial number weighing in at over 30lbs.

Last year’s prize catch by a holiday guest tipped the scales at an impressive 38lb 12oz.

Coghurst Hall’s picturesque waters have provided a first-class challenge for anglers for over two centuries – but for much of this time, fishing here has been the preserve of a privileged few.

Now, however, those hoping to net a record-breaker need only be a guest of the park – either staying in one of the park’s rented caravan holiday homes, or as one of the park’s holiday home owners.

Set in hundreds of acres of historic woodland with an imposing 18th Century manor house as its centrepiece, Coghurst Hall has long been a draw for people who take their leisure seriously.

Today, the options for relaxation have been widened more than ever by Park Holidays UK, and include a Romanesque leisure pool as well as a sauna and spa bath.

There’s also a superb clubhouse where professional cabaret shows are held every night in season, plus good value restaurants and bars, and endless activities and entertainment for children.

But it is the magnificent fishing lake – one of three lakes in the grounds – which provide the main lure for many guests, be they experienced anglers or youngsters learning the skill from a parent.

This most recent re-stocking is part of a continual investment in the lake by Park Holidays UK which this year will also include further upgrades to the fishing swims around the banks.

Coghurst Hall’s greatest strength, says company director Tony Clish, is to be able to offer an assurance of never-a-dull moment to all family members.

“Not only does the park itself provide a long list of attractions, but it’s also just a short distance from a whole host of amazing days out, from seasides to zoos and gorgeous countryside,” he said.

“So if one member of the family wants to spend the day locked in battle with our monster carp, the rest will find that there are plenty of other diversions to get hooked on.

“And in the evening over supper, mum can describe her epic struggles with one of Coghurst Hall’s  rod-bending forty-pounders!” added Tony.

This year, the park is offering a number of low-cost “taster breaks” for guests considering a longer stay this coming summer, starting at just £69.00 for the whole family for three or four nights.

There are also incentives available for those considering buying a holiday home at Coghurst Hall, including top quality pre-owned models from £8,995 with affordable finance options.
