South Wales lump makes it into the history books at 48lb.

A new carp record for Wales has been set by a fish of 48lb.

Caught by angler Tony Tanti, the fish was banked at South Wale’s big fish venue Roath Park near cardiff. Tony tackled the 30acre water with home made boilies – Shellfish Sense Appeal – presented on a size 7 Nash Fang Twister hook to a Missing Link hooklink and a D-Cam leader.

Tony hooked his fish, known as Ben, from a baited spot at 30yards range. The big common breaks its own record which stood at 44lb set in 2008.
