Caught from the complex’s Specimen Lake the fish, known as 4.3, was banked by local angler James Potter who snared the fish using PVA bag tactics in combination with a snowman rig.
The Woodbridge-based rod cast his rig, featuring a Premier Baits Quad boilie with a 10mm pop-up with a bag of pellets to 50 yards, taking the fish during a 24hour session that also saw him land another mirror just shy of 30lb.
James beat the record specimen with the help of a size 8 ESP hook on an 8inch hooklink on a helicopter rig.
The same fish set the previous record for the venue when it was caught back in October when it was caught at a weight of 41lb 2oz by Ipswich-angler Ricky Preston. On that visit to the bank the big mirror fell for a Dynamite Baits Spicy Peanut boilie, again fished snowman rig style.
